Love is all around

Do you remember the “LOVE” sculpture at Orchard Road, located just outside the Glass House which houses the Fish and Co. in Singapore? We are sure you do. But now, let us help you recap and find out how the sculpture design came about, the designer behind it and also, some of the locations in the world that the sculpture can be found. Indeed, this “LOVE” is a form of universal language where almost everyone in the world could relate to, and do you know that it also appears in different languages too? Read on to find out.
It all started way back in 1682, when the area that was gazetted to be called LOVE Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was made known. This LOVE sculpture in question is the centerpiece of the park, welcoming all the visitors and love birds to take a memorable image back to their home country.
However, it is the individual who designed the LOVE sculpture that became famous and was associated with the pop art movement. The person in question is no other than Robert Indiana. Frequent travelers all around the world would be able to spot the iconic sculpture at places listed below.

Appearing mostly in the English language as “LOVE”, other languages to mean love have also been spotted. For instance, in Israel, the sculpture is sculpted in Hebrew – Ahava (אהבה). In addition, in Italy, it is greeting visitors proudly in the main language, displaying the word, Amor.
